Tenderhands Volume 1 #1-100 is the Korean version of the first volume of the Tenderhands project by a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist, Ivetta Sunyoung Kang, published as an artist book. Tenderhands is Ivetta's project initiated in March 2020 since the declaration of the global pandemic and run until July 2022 with more than 300 instructions that attempt to ease anxiety embodied in our body and question social and political bodies.

This time, Ivetta collaborated with a Seoul-based independent press, Leftie Press, to bring the publication to life. It consists of the first 100 instructions and four essays written by Ivetta's friends.

《따뜻한손 Volume.1 #1-100》은 손과 몸의 불안의 휴식을 도와줄 수 있는 지침서와 에세이로 구성된 아티스트북으로, 캐나다 토론토를 기반으로 활동하는 이베타 강선영의 다원 매체 프로젝트 「Tenderhands」를 책의 형태로 엮었습니다.

전 세계적인 판데믹이 선언되었던 2020년 3월부터 약 3년간 진행된 「Tenderhands」 프로젝트 기간동안 이베타는 약 300개 이상의 지침서를 작성했으며, 이를 퍼포먼스 비디오로 상영 및 설치하거나 온라인 관객 참여형 퍼포먼스, 연극 스테이지에서 작가 본인이 행하는 퍼포먼스, 이메일 구독 프로젝트(새로운 지침서의 구독을 원하는 사람은 ‘손’ 이라고 하면 자신에게 떠오르는 단어를 작가에게 ‘기부’함으로서 구독을 완성했다.) 등으로 선보였습니다.

2024년 1월,  동료이자 친구인 레프티프레스와의 협업으로 만든 《따뜻한손 Volume.1 #1-100》은 「Tenderhands」 프로젝트의 지침서 100개와 에세이를 한국어로 번역한 책으로, 긴 호흡으로 여러 미디엄을 통과해온 「Tenderhands」 프로젝트의 마무리이기도 합니다.
